Tokyu Stay Kyoto Sanjo-karasuma

Amazing hotel right by the train station so very convenient to walk and go see all the sights. Neighborhood was great with a 7-11 and McDonald's right by for any late night snacks. The room itself was amazing it was huge, the bed was so comfortable and the pillows just right. The bathroom was big and the shower had great pressure. Best of all was the washer/dryer in the room! Made it so easy to start a load of out clothes before exploring for the day just to come back and have clean clothes! Highly recommend this hotel

Clean and functional room with in-room washer and dryer. Don't need to fight for the laundry queue at the end of the day like other hotels :) Service was exceptional - we have shipped our luggage to the hotel and they have placed them in our room prior to our arrival. They also coordinated our taxi to the train station as well. It is located in a less busy part of town but still convenient enough to walk. Great value for money.

Staff service was 11/10 thank you! Checked in on the dot, staff were super duper kind and process were smooth and quick. 24/7 reception. Amenities were great and room was well tidied. It’s really helpful of them to provide a coffee machine at the lobby. Location is convenient from the 7-11 and train station (1 minute and 5 minutes walk away). Safety wise, it’s great. It’s kinda close the the main road and there’s a Starbucks nearby too. There’s even utensils, washing machine an microwaves in the room!! It’s such a bonus (especially for bah packers like us). Also, their shampoo and soap is loved!! So fear not! Haha. It’s by far the best Kyoto hotels we have ever stayed. Thank you for the hospitality! Will definitely be back in the future.

I love this hotel. We stayed 7 nights in Kyoto and chose this place because: 1) room that is not too small 2) including washing machine and dryer in the room - no need coins and wait for your turn 3) very near the station, there are two nearby 4) plenty of combini everywhere 5) great service and friendly staff, spoke a little English 6) clean, modern and nice design 7) non-smoking room for 8) toilet/bathroom not too small too Definitely will stay here again next time

I am absolutely glad we booked this hotel. The main reason we booked this is because there is a washer/dryer in every room. We booked the family room and they are all located at the Anex building. The main building and Anex building are seperated by about 3 blocks. It is just a few seconds walk from the main building to the Anex building. There are no hotel staffs stationed at the Anex building though, so if you need assistance you need to phone them or walk to the main building. There are free coffee machine, tea, ice, hot water and various amenities located at the lobbies of both building. The location of this hotel is a short 5mins walk to the subway station and a 2mins walk to 7-11 convenient storeand 6mins walk to McDonald's and Lawson convenient store. The hotel is beautifully furnished with modern touch to the rustic buidling of Kyoto. The family room that we chose consist of Futons and Modern Beds. There is a humidifier in the room Shower water pressure is very strong Wifi signals are fantastic. TV is at least 46 inch wide Multiple charging ports available even at the headboard section of the beds. Just like other hotels in Japan, you need to stay over a certain number of nights for them to do daily house keeping. However, they do provide changing of towels Daily as long as you stick the magnet label outside your room door before you head off for the day. They just dont make your bed or wash your toilet, etc. The shower, conditioner, etc are of the famous Polar brand. The only thing that i wish to criticise is that the staffs don't speak good English, and i am fully aware that i am in Japan and Japanese don't speak good english, but the hotel staffs being in this industry should at least have a certain degree of basic understanding of English language. I will give an example, I am requesting for new bottle of Shower Soap, they do not understand and had to send a personnel to my room to see what i meant. I am requesting that they change the battery of the safe box in my room due to low battery and they had to transfer the phone call 2 times to finally get what i meant. Just take note that you will need to be patient when speaking to them to get them to understand what your inquiries are. Every staff holds a handheld device for translation purposes though. Besides the slight annoyance due to language barrier, this hotel deserves way more than 3 stars hotel ranking, it felt more like a 4 stars hotel. Absolutely fantastic and deserved praise. I would definitely stay here again in future.

I was planning to stay at a hotel at Kyoto Station to save time with daily transit connections but ended up staying six nights at Tokyu Stay Kyoto Sanjo-Karasuma. Very reasonable price for such a great and quiet location. The room came with a washer/dryer, which I used every night after returning from a day excursion. The 7/11 two doors down from the hotel was a convenient and pleasant surprise. The hotel is near the Karasuma-Oike Station (Karasuma and Tozai subways lines). We used the subways, JR Sagano Line, and bus connections to get to all the major tourist attractions and used the Karasuma subway to Kyoto Station to make connections to Nara, Himeji, Kanazawa, and Tokyo. I had no issues with the room and staff were always helpful. Really enjoyed my stay in Kyoto.

Full room service against extra charge. Towels and garbage collection free We stayed in a room with two beds. Space was ok. It gets tight if you have two large packs or suitcases.. Location is great with shopping and restaurants in the area and station nearby… the hotel could be 20% cheaper. THE HOTEL IS EXPENSIVE ENOUGH BUT THEN THEY TRY TO SAVE OR SQUEEZE YOU VIA LITTLE DETAILS LIKE EXTRA CHARGE FOR FULL CLEANING OR SELLING DRINKING WATER IN THE VENDING MACHINES Missed a couple of bottles of drinking water, it would have been a nice touch . Don’t forget to bring yours, water tasted bad.. Free expresso and tea in the lobby is very good.. Room amenities in the reception are ok… Very quiet washing-drying machine in the room.. bring your detergent! There is also a microwave oven… and electric teapot, convenient! They advertise a kitchen but there is no silverware… if you need a knife it needs to be rented at the reception We will try to stay in Tokyo Stay hotels in the rest of Japan in the future . Depends on price and location
